Rich’s Biography and Credentials

Rich Hachenburg President & Founder
Competitive Edge Business Coaching, Inc.

As a successful entrepreneur, small business owner, field sales manager, and vice president for a $100 million industry-leading manufacturer, Rich Hachenburg gathered his experience with companies both large and small. Rich forged a consistent track record of success throughout his 19-year business career in a variety of industries. He achieved this by applying his expertise in management, marketing, sales, training, and problem solving.

Rich’s track record of accomplishments includes:

  • As an entrepreneur and small business owner, he started a business at age 24 and built it into a success by developing a nationwide sales distribution network.
  • As a field sales manager, Rich consistently ranked 1st in sales performance.
  • As a senior executive for an industry leader, Rich built a management team that executed a growth strategy resulting in the sale of the company at a 320% ROI for its shareholders, in only 2 ½ years.
  • As a business and executive coach, Rich has helped hundreds of business owners, executives, and managers grow their business and exceed their goals.

How has Rich been successful?

First, by understanding why businesses and managers succeed or fail.

Second, by applying the “best demonstrated methods” he has learned from others, including his mentors (who served as his coaches), his colleagues, and his clients. Rich looks at each of the five critical areas of any business, uses what works effectively and eliminates what fails.

Rich’s business philosophy:

To be successful in any business, at any level, you must have a thorough understanding of these five basic, fundamental principles and how they apply to your industry and your company:

  1. You must know exactly who your potential customers or clients are and how to reach them, so you can effectively market your products or services.
  2. You must be able to communicate what you can do for your clients and how you can solve their problems, so you can effectively sell your products or services.
  3. You must be able to exceed your clients’ expectations and know whether or not you are doing this, so they will continue to buy from you AND refer others to you as well.
  4. You must understand that you will only be as good as the people you surround yourself with, so you must start by getting the best people possible. You must then give them the necessary tools, training, and leadership that they need to get the job done.
  5. You must have the proper structure in place and the ability to manage your priorities and your time effectively. You need to manage your business and not have your business manage you.

Rich says…

“Many business owners, executives and managers know WHAT they need to do but don’t know HOW to get it done. That’s where I can help them as their coach.”
